Range-of-Motion therapy improves spinal mobility. It improves circulation and elasticity which encourage the discs to begin healing.

A healthy spine is a spine that can move in multiple planes. These planes include bending forward, backward, diagonally and side to side. It also includes rotation which we consider the most important of all. The spine must seamlessly perform all these movements in varying combinations without pain. Anything less is a precursor for injury or the result of an injury.

We injure our spines in many ways including sprains, strains, work injuries, sporting injuries and auto injuries. The pains and symptoms that result from these injuries are often left to Click to view large size picture . . .heal on their own. After all, "who wants to go to the doctor?"

In every case there is an amount of healing that occurs on its own. However there cannot be enough said for the problems that develop as a direct result of improper or misaligned healing of an injury.

Muscle  fibers traverse in multiple directions and need to be treated along those directions.

Spinal movements are accomplished by many different groups of muscles. Each group is comprised  of bundled fibers that are either parallel to the spine or to some degree perpendicular. To maximize treatment results, each bundled fiber group needs to be stretched along the length of its fibers, not just the width.

  • Parallel Fibers: To stretch muscle fibers that run parallel to the spine, such as the Erector Spinae muscles, basic linear decompression is sufficient.
  • Perpendicular Fibers: To stretch muscle fibers that are angled or perpendicular to the spine, and whose primary functions are to rotate or side bend the spine, including the Multifidus, Rotatores, Serratus and External Oblique muscles, the spine must be rotated and or laterally flexed (bending to one's side) during the decompression therapy. Antalgic-Trak is the only system that can do this.

The spine is made of vertebral bone segments stacked on cartilage discs. The entire mechanism is held together by groups of ligaments, tendons and muscles. Spinal vertebrae and discs move with each other using a system of gliding facet joints. When spinal gliding and positioning is disrupted by trauma, the misaligned segments can heal "crooked." Although they maintain function, the misaligned Click to view large size picture . . .healing creates spinal gliding issues. Over time, these gliding issues cause degenerative joint disease and symptoms. If you have spinal alignment and gliding issues, your symptoms can easily include the following;

  • Back or neck pain.
  • Muscle spasm along the spine.
  • Sharp or dull pain with movement.
  • Numbness, tingling or creepy crawly feelings.
  • Arthritis pain and the development of joint arthritis.
  • Leg pains (sciatica) or arm pains (brachial neuritis).
  • Weakness in the lower back and legs, or neck and arms.
  • Sharp stabbing pain in certain postures and/or movement "cricks."
  • Clicking or popping noises in the spine and/or joint grittiness (like sand) with movement.

What's the solution? Antalgic-Trak. Antalgic-Trak is a spinal range-of-motion therapy instrument that is capable of gently improving or restoring the spine's mechanical ranges of motion. The rhytmic repetitive motions of Antalgic-Trak create physiological tissue changes (like exercise) that enable spinal tissues including the discs, to begin healing.
